The Monroe County Health Department is accepting applications for a full-time Local Health Nurse I
General Duties include:
Responsibilities for this position include but are not limited to; Provide entry-level nursing care and assessments to individuals and families under limited supervision in a clinic or community setting, consistent with the Kentucky Department for Public Health’s (KDPH) Core Clinical Service Guide (CCSG), Nursing Scope and Standards of Practice, and established policies, procedures, and licensing laws. Develop and implement plans of care based upon identified health risks. Document services provided to the client according to standards of the CCSG and the KDPH Administrative Reference (AR). Maintain confidentiality and privacy according to guidelines. Develop and conduct educational counseling and teaching activities for individual clients and families. Participate in health promotion initiatives, strategies, and disease prevention for targeted population groups. Participate in outbreak investigations and surveillance activities. Direct, plan, organize, establish, and implement program goals and objectives to provide a full range of services within various public health programs. Maintain a collaborative relationship and represent the department on inter-agency councils and committees and attend meetings or conferences relating to area of responsibility. Plan and conduct health education instruction and/or classes. The nurse in this classification would receive job specific training in the requirements and scope of practice of the various assigned health department programs and services.

Special Requirements: (Age, Licensure, Regulation, Etc.) Must have Registered Nurse (RN) license in Kentucky or compact state or provisional license in Kentucky, meeting all requirements of KRS 314.041 and approval to practice as a Registered Nurse Applicant (RNA).
Starting Salary: $20.79 - $25.95/hr. negotiable with additional experience; excellent benefits package and a schedule that fosters work-life balance. Grade 15
